SaltWater Bass Fish

saltwater bass fish live in the ocean.

This is a coastal fish, often found in estuaries. It has a wide diet including smaller fish of its own species. Sea bass has an attractive silvery skin with seriously hard scales which need to be removed before cooking. It also has some meaningful spines and razor sharp gill covers which can give you a bit of sting.

Brown Trout

The brown trout (Salmo trutta) is a species of salmonid ray-finned fish and the most widely distributed species of the genus Salmo, endemic to most of Europe, West Asia and parts of North Africa, and has been widely introduced globally as a game fish, even becoming one of the world's worst invasive species outside of its native range.

Tiger Trout

The tiger trout (Salmo trutta × Salvelinus fontinalis) is a sterile, intergeneric hybrid of the brown trout (Salmo trutta) and the brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis). Pronounced vermiculations in the fish's patterning gave rise to its name, evoking the stripes of a tiger. Tiger trout are a rare anomaly in the wild, as the parent species are relatively distantly related, being members of different genera and possessing mismatched numbers of chromosomes. However, specialized hatchery rearing techniques are able to produce tiger trout reliably enough to meet the demands of stocking programs.

Goldfish

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) are a popular freshwater fish known for their vibrant colors and elegant swimming patterns, making them a common choice for aquariums and ponds. They are a domesticated species, originally bred from wild carp in China, and come in numerous varieties with diverse shapes and colors. While often kept as pets, goldfish released into the wild can become invasive pests.

Octopus

An octopus is a soft-bodied, eight-limbed mollusc of the order Octopoda The order consists of some 300 species and is grouped within the class Cephalopoda with squids, cuttlefish, and nautiloids. Like other cephalopods, an octopus is bilaterally symmetric with two eyes and a beaked mouth at the centre point of the eight limbs. An octopus can radically deform its shape, enabling it to squeeze through small gaps. They trail their appendages behind them as they swim. The siphon is used for respiration and locomotion (by water jet propulsion). Octopuses have a complex nervous system and excellent sight, and are among the most intelligent and behaviourally diverse invertebrates.

SwordFish

Swordfish are large, predatory fish known for their elongated, sword-like bill. They are the sole member of the family Xiphiidae. Swordfish are found in tropical and temperate oceans worldwide and are highly migratory.

Carp

Carp are a diverse group of freshwater fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, with the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) being the most well-known and widely distributed. They are known for their adaptability, omnivorous diet, and ability to thrive in various water conditions. Carp are also important in aquaculture and are a popular target for anglers.

Tuna

Tuna are a group of saltwater fish characterized by their streamlined bodies, powerful swimming abilities, and warm-bloodedness. They are highly migratory and found in most of the world's oceans. Tuna are also a popular and commercially valuable food source, with various species used for canning and fresh consumption.

Eels

Eels are elongated, snake-like fish belonging to the order Anguilliformes, which includes over 800 species. They are characterized by their long, slender bodies, lack of pelvic fins, and some species also lack pectoral fins. Eels are found in both freshwater and saltwater environments, and many species migrate between the two during their life cycle.

MudSkippers

Mudskippers are amphibious fish known for their ability to live both in water and on land, spending a significant portion of their time out of the water. They are found in coastal areas like swamps, lagoons, and mudflats, particularly in mangrove ecosystems. Their unique adaptations allow them to breathe air, "walk" on land using their pectoral fins, and even skip across the water's surface.

CaveFish

Cavefish are fish that have adapted to life in caves and other underground habitats, often characterized by reduced or absent eyes and pigmentation. These fish are typically small, with many species ranging from 2 to 13 cm in length, though some can reach up to 43 cm.

Gulper Fish

The gulper eel, also known as the pelican or umbrella-mouth gulper, is a bizarre deep-sea fish characterized by its enormous mouth and small body. This unique adaptation allows it to swallow prey much larger than itself in the vast, food-scarce deep ocean.

Great White Sharks

The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), also known as the white shark, white pointer, or simply great white, is a species of large mackerel shark which can be found in the coastal surface waters of all the major oceans. It is the only known surviving species of its genus Carcharodon.

HammerHead Sharks

Hammerhead sharks, belonging to the family Sphyrnidae, are a group of sharks known for their distinctive, flattened, hammer-shaped heads called cephalofoils. These sharks are found in temperate and tropical waters worldwide and are characterized by their unique head shape, which aids in hunting and sensory perception.

Axolotl

The axolotl, scientifically known as Ambystoma mexicanum, is a unique type of salamander that remains in its larval, aquatic form throughout its life. Unlike most amphibians, it doesn't undergo metamorphosis to become a land-dwelling adult. Instead, it retains its feathery external gills and lives entirely in the water.

AmberJack

Amberjack are a group of predatory ray-finned fish belonging to the genus Seriola in the family Carangidae. They are known for their powerful fighting ability when caught by anglers and are found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, primarily in warmer waters. Greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) is a common species, known for its size and strength, often found near reefs and wrecks.

BlueGill

The bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus), sometimes referred to as "bream", "brim", "sunny", or, in Texas, "copper nose", is a species of North American freshwater fish, native to and commonly found in streams, rivers, lakes, ponds and wetlands east of the Rocky Mountains. It is the type species of the genus Lepomis (true sunfish), from the family Centrarchidae (sunfishes, crappies and black basses) in the order Centrarchiformes.

Acadian RedFish

The Acadian redfish (Sebastes fasciatus), also known as the Atlantic redfish, Acadian rockfish, or Labrador redfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the subfamily Sebastinae, the rockfishes, part of the family Scorpaenidae. It is native to the deep waters of the northwestern Atlantic.
